Day Surgery
Day surgery, also known as outpatient or ambulatory surgery, is surgery that does not require an overnight hospital stay. Today, many surgical procedures are performed as day surgery allowing patients the convenience of receiving the care they need, including education and recovery and returning home the same day.
The Surgical Services unit is staffed by highly qualified and experienced nurses who cater to the unique needs of same-day surgery patients. Their goal is to make each patient's brief stay at Huggins Hospital as comfortable as possible and to ensure that patients return home with a relaxed, positive attitude conducive to healing.
